Kite Ridge School Equality Objectives
1. School Value - Material and Financial Sustainability
Students are enabled to aspire to employment and economic independence.
Equality Objective
Each academic year students undertake twenty hours of internal and external work experience activities that meet their needs and provides them with meaningful experiences which develop their social skills and their ability to aspire to economic independence.
2. School Value - Community Engagement and Participation
Students are enabled to engage in and contribute to society.
Equality Objective
Each academic year students undertake one hundred hours of study that provides them with the skills to engage in and contribute to society through the Life Skills Curriculum. Such as taking part in community events, undertaking voluntary work or spending time in the community.
3. School Value - Autonomy and Self Determination
Students are provided with a range of experiences to enable them to make and communicate meaningful choices.
Equality Objective
Each academic year students have specific half termly targets which provide them with experiences both within school and within the wider community that enable them to make the same meaningful choices as typically functioning students.
